After I wrote, I saw the WinZip 8.1 download on your site and used that. I've never password protected a zip file before, but think that the process worked... I'm sure they'll let me know if I messed up. From previously, I remember it's hard to even locate the built-in XP zip utility. I uninstalled WinZip because the built-in version seemed easier to understand. It would be good to know if the built-in version has password capability for sure.

There is a method to password protect zip files using XP. I'll look for the instructions which should be around here some place. I have to send a file to BitDefender and it must be password protected. I always use the built-in XP program, but don't know where/how to find the password option if it exists. I also paid for WinZip years ago, but don't know what version- so doubt if I can get the current one. So I need to quickly find a free zip program with password capability which is JAWS friendly. Hope that someone can assist ;) Cher For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
