I don't really know if there is a difference in XP or Windows 7 settings regarding screen resolution settings. I had thought that for XP Freedom Scientific's recommended setting was 1024/768. But as there hasn't yet been a list of recommended settings for Jaws to work optimally with Windows 7, I'm wondering what setting some of you might have your resolution on and what you think makes Jaws work the best. I've had other reading issues I've asked groups about, but what concerns me now is that I must refresh my screen every time a new message opens in Windows Live Mail. Jaws may sometimes read the next message after one has been deleted, but more times than not the only way to get it to read the next message is to screen-refresh it every time. A friend who remote-connected to help me once also said he couldn't read the screen at 1024/768, but I don't think that selected items or checkboxes were reading correctly at 800/600. I think there may be some type of focus issue, whether screen resolution or something else, because the other thing Jaws will do is just start reading everything on desktop when I go to the desktop--in other words instead of just saying not selected and one item it starts announcing everything on the desktop until I hit the control key. It also does this at startup, like it's having trouble focusing in on one thing. So I'm concerned about either screen or display settings that are perhaps not set correctly.
