Is the /screenreader theme/directory available on all installations?
Or do I have to install it first?

You also mentioned a desktop software is available.
Is this app accessible with JAWS?

Hello,
try http://yoursqueezeboxserver:9000/screenreader
There a lots of different skins for squeezeboxserver formerly squeezecenter
or slimserver.
Currently I use a Thecus N5200 to run squeezecenter 7.3. This is a raid nas
box with five hard disk drives and raid5.
I don't care about speech while I am listening to music. Normally I just
select a song and then the speech falls silent again.
Disabling refreshing in jaws is an option.
Or if you don't need the web interface just leave the window.
Cheers
Jeronimo

Hi Jeronimo:

I tested the web interface (squeezecenter) a while ago.

I found it hard to read (Braille) which track is currently playing etc.
The page was refreshing very frequently, of obvious reasons...

I think I remember you as a Braille user as well.
So I would love to know how you fix this.

Currently I transfer all music over a toslink (bitperfect from Winamp) to my
DAC.
Winamp enables me to read and operate the playlist etc just using Braille
and my keyboard.

I find it very cumbersome to listen to JAWS speaking when I am listening to
music, so I disable speech.
The music audio stream is from a secondary sound card of course.

This solution works great, but I would love to run Squeezecenter on a Linux
fileserver and stream it over my LAN.

Hi,
I use squeezebox server along with a squeezebox classic made by logitech.
It streams music to all my rooms and it has a costomizable web interface
that works well with jaws. There are a lot of plugins.
There is also a software version of the player but I can not tell a lot
about this.
Regards
Jeronimo
