remember there has to be something on the clipboard for JAWS to read it.

The Insert, Windows, + X keystroke is the Jaws command for reading the
clipboard. From my understanding you have to assign your own keystroke to
make the Speak Clipboard program work using your assigned hotkey. I have
not installed the program yet, so I can't be more descriptive in my answer.

Well, there is an easier way to read the clipboard. Just download a free
self-voicing app called Speak Clipboard which will speak the contents of
your clipboard in a SAPI 5 voice (usually Daniel) at the touch of a
keystroke. You can create a desktop icon for Speak Clipboard and then
assign a shortcut key of your choosing to launch it.
