These instructions apply to Word 2003 but there should be some 2007 equivalent. 1. Re justification of page number do this from the insert page number function rather than working directly in the header or footer. In Word 2003 you simply go to insert and then page number on the menu bar and set the options you want there. Hopefully somebody using 2007 can show you a quick way to do this without having to tab or shift tab loads of times. As I understand it in 2007 the secret is to be able to remember keystrokes to get there quickly.
2. Similarly in 2003 for table of contents you simply go to the insert menu, then reference, then index and contents . Control tab until you hear the table of contents tab. Here you will find options to automatically create tables of contents. . The simplest way to do this is to let it create tables from headers that you have inserted in the tables. You can then edit and tidy up the tables automatically created if you want. Someone else will have to tell you where table of contents is in 2007 but you may get a clue from the above. The control r and control l keys do work, with a little added work. First type the text you want left justified. I believe in a header this will automatically left justify, but to be safe, you can select the text and use control l. Then type the text to be right justified; select it and do the control r. Sorry I don't know the answer to the second part of the question.
