Yes, probably. One of the places you can encounter them is at the FedEx.com website. If you delete your cookie for Fedex, the one that remembers your current location, you will be broght to their main homepage.

At this point, you are presented with a combobox to choose a location. When you try to open the box, it immediately jumps to the first option and places you in the Afghanistan locale. I didn't discover this until a few days later, after wondering why my tracking number kept coming up with no results.

I think I had to go into their sitemap to find reference to an "accessible" page, which treated the combobox in a customary manner.

There is another site that I use a lot when I speak about web accessibility. Mr. Damry is aware of this site. If you go to the Cisco Linksys website and attempt to download new firmware or drivers, you are presented with a completely inaccessible combobox. I can kind of but not always get it to work with System Access, but not at all with Jaws or Window-eyes so far. It is kind of a combobox that scrolls when it is opened. Often, Jaws doesn't even recognize it as being a comboboox.

We wouldn't be talking about a Javascript Combo Box now would we?
I hear that a Javascript Combo Box when expanding the combobox and making
the selection, the next page loads.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Combo boxes

On several web sites I am not able to choose items in combo boxes. If I
arrow down to make a selection, it is like clicking on a link. Is there
something I am missing to choose the item I am looking for in these combo
boxes?
