Not stupid. Yes he can try that. When it asks to remove the user information, choose yes. A repair should be enough.

Might sound stupid but would doing a repare/remove to your jaws help in setting it back to its default behavior?
Sorry that might sound stupid but its the only thing I can come up with.

There is no longer a classic laptop layout. x should get you to the next check box. Check what's in navigation quick key manager.

Hi: I set the navigation key default to cap locks and changed the keyboard layout under basic settins to laptop. How do you use the laptop keyboard to say words and lines etc? When I use the "x" navigation key it doesn't find the check boxes. Does Jaws have a classic settings option in Windows 7 similar to what was available in WinXP?

Thanks,
Lennie

Strange the caps lock key isn't working for you. Are you sure you didn't
change anything inadvertently in Configuration Manager? Particularly under
the keyboard options dialogue box?

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Using a new laptop with Jaws and Windows 7

Hi: I'm using a new laptop with Windows 7 and Internet 8 and Jaws 11, 64 bit. Can someone direct me to where I can find information on how to use
Jaws with a laptop keyboard? I initially changed Jaws to use the laptop
keyboard but the cap locks didn't work as an insert key or Jaws key.

I really am looking for the key combination for "say line" or "say all"
with navigation keys on a laptop; and how to get into verbosity to make
some changes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lennie
