Hi,
I think many of you, who have this problem, should report it to adobe. They
have to fix it, because it's not legitim that we have to convert documents
just because regressions on adobe reader software.
If you search in google for "report adobe reader problem" you'll find a form
to this purpose. They have to understand that it's not one or two persons
that have the same problem.

Don,
Yes, I've tried that and any other key combination I can
think of and I can't hear page #'s etc. Most times I convert
PDF docs to text or word because I get too frustrated with
Adobe and getting around in documents. Back in older
versions such as 7 etc it sure seemed much easier.
thanks
Al

Sorry, I do not have that version. Have you attempted
JAWSKey + PageDown,
to read the Status bar?

I have found that it is now displayed at the top of the
window. Not nearly
as convenient! Now you will need to perform the following
keystrokes:
JAWSKey (Insert on desktop layout, CapsLock on laptop) +
NumPad Minus (-) to
route the JAWS cursor to the PC currsor
NumPad Minus (-) to turn on the JAWS cursor
PageUp to go to the top of the window
Down Arrow down until you hear the page inforrmation.
Just
before or after
announcing the menus, it should announce something like "1
of 45", to inform
you are on page 1 of 45 total pages.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS doesn't read document page
numbers in adobereader

Hi,
I've migrated from adobe reader 7.10 to adobe reader 9.2.
Whichever version of JAWS I use, I'm not able to find a
consistent way to
read the current page number and the total number of
pages
of a document
opened in adobe reader 9.2. In adobe reader 7.10, I could
get this
information from adobe reader's status bar (page 10/1000,
for example).
Is there any way to accomplish this task with a minimal
key sequence using
adobe reader 9 and JAWS? I've reported a bug against
adobe
reader some
weeks
ago, but didn't have any answer until now.
Thanks.
Best regards,
Sérgio Neves
