Usually when I type in a web address or e-mail address in Word or Outlook, the link is active. However, there are different settings to make or unmakelinks. If you want the link active, highlight the link, press the applications key and you can arrow down and make the link active. You will be given options such as edit hyperlink, remove hyperlink, activate hyperlink, etc.
