I'm wondering perhaps the windows UAC User access control is coming on?
obviously your not hearing the sound alert?
try alt+c=continue,
hopefully the jaws installation process will continue.

I had a pc crash and decided rather than reinstall xp on my hp full
keyboard laptop, I installed windows seven. Now when I try to install Jaws
v11 from the dvd I have no jaws speech to perform this task. I have a
dvd/cd burner and I can hear the Windows seven sound at startup. Not sure
if this means anything related to this discussion but my techy friend who
installed Windows seven also installed Kerbersky antivirus.
