Hi Kimmie;
If your operating system is XP do the following to create a desktop
shortcut. This is only 1 of the different ways to do this.
1. Highlight the program you would like to create the shortcut for.
2. Press your applications / context menu key.
3. Arrow down to " Send To ", press enter or after pressing the
applications
/ context menu key, press the letter " N " until you get to " Send To "
and
press enter.
4. Now, arrow down to " Desktop Create Shortcut " and press enter.
Wham Bam, you should have a shortcut on your desktop. If you would like
to
change the way the shortcut reads or the way it is spelled, do this;
1. Highlight the shortcut.
2. Press your F2 key to open the edit field to change the way the
shortcut
reads.
3. You can delete anything in the edit field or just alter what is there,
but as long as you get it to say what you want the shortcut to be.
4. Now, that you have gotten the shortcut to read the way you want it to
display / read, press enter. You are done.
To arrange your desktop by name now that you have added a new item to it
do
the following;
1. Press Windows key + M to go to the desktop if you are not on it.
2. Make sure nothing is selected. Do this by pressing your F5 key or
pressing the control + spacebar keystroke.
3. Press your applications / context menu key.
4. Arrow to " Arrange by Icons submenu " or just press the letter " I ".
5. Arrow down to " Name " and press enter or just press the letter " N ".
Okay, you are done. I sure hope I didn't scare you away with these long
winded steps, and if I didn't scare you away, I hope they helped. LOL
