You are so right. If you have win 7 and don't want I E 8, go to something
like firebox. Or if you never had I E seven or six on xp, you will have to
get a third party internet program, than remove i e 8 and than down load i e
6 or 7. Had to do this after a sighted tech put I E 8 on my computer after
fixing some hardware problem and restoring some of my files and folders.

Don't do it! This is pasted directly from the provided link.
When you remove Internet Explorer 8, your earlier version of Internet
Explorer is restored with your customizations (such as add-ins, Favorites,
and your home page). However, Internet Explorer 8 is a part of Windows 7.
Therefore, if you remove Internet Explorer 8, you will have to install a
third-party browser
Kate, you're fine, go head and try it if you want to, I'm only making this
warning for windows 7 users, which you're not.
