Well, Steve, I gotta give you one thing. You are right on this point. I
didn't even think about the other updates. Good point.
Chris.

Chris,
To use an analogy, since in XP you can uninstall IE8 and rollback that
way, you are only undoing one thing. If she did a System Restore, she
would lose other updates that her brother did. It's kind of like taking a
sledge hammer to pound in a nail.
From a good computer tech troubleshooting standpoint, the whole object is
"DO NO HARM!" You start with the least destructive resolution and work up
from there.

o, k? not meaning to then argue with you, but why then, on my end did I
once do a system restore, and it did! roll back a version of software I
had. Again, I'm not trying to be rude, nor defensive as much as reason
with you. I wonder why that happened then on my end. It's not I doubt
you, but I then don't understand why on my end, it did! roll it back, and
this may I add was software, not even a driver.

No, no!! Undder no circumstances should you attempt a System Restore
before attempting to remove IE 8 using Add/Remove Programs on the
Control Panel. This will really screw things up and make it almost
impossible to roll back to IE 7. Remember: performing a System Restore
does not remove the currently installed version of a program.

I'm not totally sure that he can. IE pretty much locks itself into
your OS tighter than...
It may be under add/remove programs in the control panel, but just be
ware: don't count on it. System restore may be a better option. I'm
honestly not sure. Being I have jfw 11, I've never had to really
honestly worry about this.

Tell your brother to uninstall Internet Explorer 8 so that you have IE
7, which works with JAWS8.

Which version of Internet Explorer are you running? Did this
problem just start suddenly, or did you make any changes to your
system?
