David, the only things I really want to zap from the system tray are Quik
Time and instant messaging. I never use them and don't know how quik time
even got there. In the past, I have tried to remove them to no avail.

: Hello Marilyn ;
:
: after you've uncheck the necessary check boxes in MSCONFIG,
:
: you tab over to the okay button.
: note, your then being prompted to restart your computer to make the
changes,
: or restart later.
:
: when you restart your computer,
: there will be a configuration promt, you need to check the box,
: don't start the system configuration at startup.
:
: also, before going into MSCONFIG,
:
: I would check in,
: start menu/programs/startup, to see which programs are running at startup,
: and remove them from their.
:
: also, go into the system tray, on the various items in their, you may want
: to check the program options to see if you can't stop the program from
: running at startup.
:
: I usually suggest MSCONFIG as my last choice
