Steve,
If I didn't already thank you, and for that matter, the rest of the folks on
this list who have helped me with this,I sure am thanking you now!
Installing Microsoft Security Essentials has made a huge difference on my
netbook, especially with scanning with Openbook 9 and the Pearl camera.

Russ,
I think you can uninstall AVG from add/remove programs.
There are two different versions of MSSE, depending on what operating
system you use. YOu didn't state which one you have, so here are the
links:
1. XP 32 bit.
http://download.microsoft.com/download/A/3/8/A38FFBF2-1122-48B4-AF60-E44F6DC28BD8/mssefullinstall-x86fre-en-us-xp.exe
2. Vista & Windows7 32 bit;
http://download.microsoft.com/download/A/3/8/A38FFBF2-1122-48B4-AF60-E44F6DC28BD8/mssefullinstall-x86fre-en-us-vista-win7.exe
3. Vista & Windows7 64 bit;
http://download.microsoft.com/download/A/3/8/A38FFBF2-1122-48B4-AF60-E44F6DC28BD8/mssefullinstall-amd64fre-en-us-vista-win7.exe
Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Security Essentials on my netbook
Hi everyone,
I have been using AVG paid version on my netbook and have been having
some
sluggishness with Openbook 9 with the pearl.
A very trusted tech friend, informed me that now, Microsoft Security
Essentials, is the best way to go. He said that many times programs seem
to
become bloated, growing larger as you use them and they add more to their
program and can slow down your processor.
Awhile back I heard much talk about, Microsoft Security Essentials, on
this
list. Would someone send some information on this? Possibly a link to the
program?
Lastly, is it safe to uninstall AVG just using the uninstall on the
program
itself?
Thank you
Russ
P.S. I look forward to your daily tips!
