and, all worked fine here.
maybe, you could try a jaws repair, or, reinstall.

Hello all, I've down loaded Jaws 12 on my windows 7 computer and all is
well
except my key echo settings. I like to have it set at letters and words,
but
for the life of me I can only get it to speak words. With the insert and
the
number two key I have it set to characters and words. In the settings
center
for jaws 12 I also have it set for characters and words. I've also done a
insert V and set that for characters and words, but no go. Anyone out
there
have any ideas on this.
