Actually you need to compact your folders in outlook express when your
system prompts you so to cut down the probability that they will become
unstable. In short it doesn't hurt them and honestly does them some good.

I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I'll probably screw that one up
too.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] An Outlook Express question
One has to limit one's subscription list, so I do not belong to blind
computering.
All my self-generated folders in OE6 have disappeared. They were there a
few days ago, but now all I have are the default folders of in and out
boxes, sent, draft and deleted items.
I went to the recycle bin and I do see what appears to be those lost folders
there with a .bak extension.
The application/context key accompanied by the letter e, the usual keystroke
for restoring files or folders to their source root doesn't work, and there
seems to be nothing in the view menu of OE6 that will fix the problem.
The computer asks me from time to time if I would like them to be compacted?
If I ignore the question, I am asked it every time I shut the computer down,
so, merely to shut the damned thing up, I say "yes". Could these compacted
folders be all the ones I see in the recycle bin with the .bak suffix? and
if so, how can I read them and get them into a folder[s where they will be
protected from kidnapping?
Jewel
