Dwight,

This is because whoever scanned the image into a PDF file
scanned it as an image (picture) rather than saving it as
text. Only way around this is to import with Freedom import
printer if you are using open book or print it and then scan
it. This is a real pain with PDF files like this

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS will nnot read PDF

Hello:

When I open a PDF file JAWS says it is processing the
document. When it finishes JAWS repeats the PDF file name
then there is silence. If I press the up or down arrow
there is silence. If I press the left or right arrow JAWS
says blank. I am told by my wife the document is on the
screen but if I try to read it with the JAWS cursor I get
one or two characters at a time but they are not part of the
document.
Anyone have a clue as to what is going on or what I can do
to correct the problem?
I am using windows xp, office 2007, JAWS 9 and the latest
Adobe reader download.
