Hi,
the latest version is Adobe Reader X.
You need to disable protected view first to get it work well with JFW9.
I have boath JFW 9 and 11 installed and It works great.
I'm using the Hebrew and English versions of JAWS.
Do the following:
1. Open the edit menu.
2. go to prefernces .
If you don't like to do it from the menu, Press control+k in the main window
of Adobe Reader.
3. tab until you find a checkbox called enable protected mode at startup,
and uncheck it.
Then, press yes to continue after the worning.
Then, press OK.
4. Close adobe reader and start it again.
But, if the PDF file has an image and not a text, You will not be able to
read it.
Best regards from Israel,
Adi Kushnir.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS will nnot read PDF
Hello:
When I open a PDF file JAWS says it is processing the document. When it
finishes JAWS repeats the PDF file name then there is silence. If I
press the up or down arrow there is silence. If I press the left or right
arrow JAWS says blank. I am told by my wife the document is on the screen
but if I try to read it with the JAWS cursor I get one or two characters
at a time but they are not part of the document.
Anyone have a clue as to what is going on or what I can do to correct the
problem?
I am using windows xp, office 2007, JAWS 9 and the latest Adobe reader
download.
