So far as software is concerned I didn't want much in the way of
pre-installed programs so the only thing right off the top I am going to
un-install is office 2010 since I already own 2003.

Windows 7 pro, 6 GB of memory and something called an I5 processor which I
am to understand is a new class from Intel. At the moment jaws 12 is the
only item that has been installed and since it's in my kitchen it's not
currently on the internet as I wanted a large area for us to work last
evening.

So far I'm please with the purchase and my wife was surprised how much I
already knew about windows 7, but that was learned during tandem sessions
working on other systems. Believe me though the road still stretches out
ahead of me, I'm just hoping it won't be too ruff.

David,

What are the specs and factory programs on your new system.
Just wondering how well all will play with JAWS after you
get it all up and running?

I just unpacked my system last night and so far so good. I
find it interesting that the desk top is in tab order among
other things but so far nothing I can't handle. I did manage
to get it in to classic mode with the address to show up in
the title bar in windows explorer and to a large extent do
the out of box experience with narrator on my own although
not entirely. The only install so far is jaws 12, next I'll
hook it to my network and install service pack 1 along with
any other updates ETC.

are really good at it.
