I am not sure about this one but the f6 key brings you between folders and e-mail then enter and there are newsgroups feeds etc.
The other key I use often with setting up is
control shift o
this brings up the options multi page preferences like general, read, receipt, send, compose, signature etc. Let me know if any of this helps or if there is something I may by the luck of the draw know

another way to add a contact is if in an unopened message and this is the e-mail you wish to add
just tap the application key and up arrow to add sender to contact list
