Hi Doris, Many thanks indeed. I am in London and would certainly try your suggestion. Unfortunately, K1000 does not always retain the colours and lay out of a scanned document which are important features for sighted people or when you wish to print a copy of the scanned file.

I have used Abbyy Finereader since its version 3.0. Any recent version of Fr does allow you to keep the document formatting. Depending on where you live in the world, you may be able to get a previous version of the software at a much reduced price. If you want to buy Finereader, you want to get the Professional version. I just checked headers and saw that you are in Europe. Try going to www.pearl.de and see if they have an English version of their webpage. There you can get FR9, the previous version of Fr, for about 30 Euros.
