You can type the words "windows update" (without the quotes) in the start
menu search box and press enter when you hear that choice.  When Windows
update opens, use shift+tab a couple of times until you hear the link for
the important updates.  Press enter on the link.  You will get a list of
updates.  Use up or down arrow key to the one you want to hide.  Use the
application key or shift+f10 to bring up the contextual menu.  Use down
arrow in the menu until you find the choice to hide the update and press
enter key.

Someone suggested I should hide the Windows Live Essentials update message
if I did not want to do the update. I can not locate in Win 7 how to do
this. I don't see it in MSCONFIG startup group.
