There is a shareware version of winrar, and it goes on past the allotted
three weeks for free.

Winrar is quite accessible but is commercial software. If you only
need to unpack .rar archives, you might want to give 7-zip from
http://www.7-zip.org/
a try. 7-zip is free open source software and, if anything, more
accessible. It works with jaws, nvda, window eyes, etc.
It can open .rar, zip and about a couple dozen other archive types.
Additionally, unlike other decompression software packages, it will
not take over any of your archive file associations unless you tell it
to.
