If you only need to unpack .rar archives, you might want to give 7-zip from http://www.7-zip.org/ a try. 7-zip is free open source software and, if anything, more accessible. It works with jaws, nvda, window eyes, etc. It can open .rar, zip and about a couple dozen other archive types.
