FF (for Firefox), and not FS. In the past, like in early versions of
Internet Explorer (through 3.x, which i started out with), I know that
control l and control o - although in practice they may have done the
same thing - did have slightly different functions.

Well not how it looks on my computer. In IE all version the control +l
or o will both open location for either files or URL. Firefox has both
of these keys, but they only do the function made for those keys in
firefox. FS has nothing to do with those keys. That is why you have to
type the full address in firefox.

actually you both have missed something, what was done by control O in
internet explorer is done by control L in Firefox and the reverse is
true as well if you hit control l in I.E. up to version 8 at least,
you open an "on the computer file" open dialog box FF just reversed
the two commands

Hi,
The open dialog in Firefox threw a curve ball at me too when I first
started using it. That dialog is really only meant for opening files
stored locally on your computer. If you use alt d to go to the
address
bar rather than control o, you should have no problems typing in
addresses whether you shorten them or not. HTH.

Well I just did maintenance on my PC running Jaws 12 and XP Pro. I

I notice that with FF one needs to type the entire URL name? Am I
right on
that?
I tested freedom scientific because I figure their link would have
all
accessibility stuff.
I control+o and typed Freedomscientific.com and link not found. I
tried
several and then realized I need to precede link name with
http://www.freedomscientific.com
I went on other sites and Jaws was very clumbsy so I'd thought it
could be a
mainntenance issue.
I did get Webvisum to work by typing alt+control+6 and Webvisum
stated to
wait then infomation could be copied from clipboard. So FF6 worked
for me
but I only need to use FF when I encounter a
CAPTCHA. But I'll keep working on learning FF because I know many
who
prefer Firefox to IE.
Thanks again.

Hi Ann Marie;
Yes, you should, but are you having problems with version6, & if
so, what
kind of problems?. Take care.

I already installed FF6, so would I need to uninstall FF6 before
installing
3.5 or 3.6? I have not used FF so much but I downloaded your
other
versions
just in case.
