I think we're 'stuck' with it now, though. there will be an outcry if Research it is ever removed. there are plenty other things that could be developed using similar layered commands similar to Research It.

Hi Steve,
As long as the, Research It, feature relies on web-content to work properly, it will always have problems whenever the web pages it accesses change, and you can count on that happening as websites continue to change with the
times and technology.
It's a shame that the time and money spent on that feature aren't directed
towards
something more beneficial for the end-user of the product.

Elf,

Sorry you seem to be off on research-it. I find it is quite convenient and
use its various features daily. It is unfortunate that there has been
occasional trouble with business search or sports, but I find other features
to lend themselves to efficiency and productive use.

Also seen it do this in this manner. maybe instead of fixing it we will get a bell and whistle like weather radar to match useless research it!

I have had this going back for more than four versions. i find that this often happens after using an audio program that uses direct x like wmp, goldwave or the vip chat client. I do not understand why direct x should impact the speaking of certain keys in jaws but it does it reproduceably here on my machine. MOst of the time unloading and reloading jaws should clear this up too. I wonder if window eyes has this problem also or if it
is just a jaws gimmick.

Have had that one for past 4 versions. After boot you get it and then it
just stops saying it.

Anyone notice in the most recent beta release of JAWS 13
that when using Ctrl C (copy command) JAWS is silent and
does not announce the command? I'm using XP Pro
