The only card I ever had trouble with was a sound blaster live that worked fine
in a windows ME system but spit and sputtered when I installed it in an XP box
when I used it for JAWS. It played fine for everything else if memory serves.
The fact is there are 3 real tech sound cards, an audagy and no less than 6 USB
sound cards in this place and they all work fine for windows, music and JAWS.
My Turtle Beach does not work all that well over Skype but it does a nice job
for recording some of my audio tutorials.

So decide what it is going to be used for the most and shop accordingly. If it
is for JAWS then a $15 USB card will do the trick. I always like to have a
external card for JAWS since I do so many tandem sessions it makes my world
easier as the volume for JAWS is independent from the system sounds and the
person on the other end.
