John and All, When I started trying to get JAWS 12 not to say left bracket etc. Insert -V from the message list view had most for punctuation. Changing it to none or some gets it to work temporarily, but I haven't been able to find the proper item in the Settings Center yet to make it permanent. Changing the setting in voice in options with Insert-J that I understood to be another list member's suggestion didn't seemed to have worked, but I might have messed up.
I'm pretty sure while I was looking in the Settings Center that I was able to change verbosity to Advanced, which was one of the things I wanted to do. I'm going to take a break. While in your "in box", hold down the insert key and press the letter "v" as in victor. 2. you are in the quick settings tree view. down arrow through the various controls and when you get to a control you think you need to change, tab once to read the jaws help.
