Dear Miss Kathy,
the ocr that comes with jaws is not for scanning hardcopy printed
material that you would put on a scanner but it performs ocr (text
recognition) on items on the computer screen. This is similar to you
importing an image _picture)file of printed material into your
favorite ocr and having it recognized.
You do not need a scanner for the ocr that comes with jaws and
therefore do not need to worry about compatibility. Rather you should
check if there are any compability requirements with the ocr program
you scan your books, mail, etc. with.

I was wondering, I am in the new market for a new scanner, is there a
certain one to buy for this newest jaws program.
