Hello Margaret,

I don't use Windows Live Mail but when using Windows 7you can easily
accomplish what you are trying to do using the Windows start menu search
box. For example, if you have a mail folder called "JAWS Users" and you
want to list all messages in that folder that were received from 10/20/11 to
10/22/11, you could type the following search after pressing the Windows key
to bring up the start menu search box:

in:jaws users Received:10/20/11..10/22/11

You could also type:

in:jaws users received:>10/19/11<10/23/11

To find messages in the "JAWS Users" folder received yesterday, you could
type:

In:JAWS Users received:yesterday

If I want to find all messages from you in my "JAWS Users" folder using
that same date range, I could type:

in:JAWS users received:10/20/11..10/22/11 from:margaret

If I want to find all messages in that same date range in the JAWS Users
folder with your name anywhere in the message, I would type the search as
follows:

In:jaws users received:10/20/11..10/22/11 margaret

If you want to list all messages in that same date range with JAWS in the
"From" field regardless of which folders contain the messages, you could
type:

from:jaws Received:10/20/11..10/22/11
or
from:jaws received:>10/19/11<10/23/11

After typing the search criteria in the Windows start menu search box, you
might want to tab to the "see more results" choice and press enter to put
the results in a list in its own window.

You might want to use arrow keys across the above examples to find out the
proper spacing and punctuation.

Take care.

David,

I gather you are replying to my question about the equivalent of Advanced
Find in Windows Live Mail 2011. So far, I'm not getting your instructions
to work. JAWS is not saying the status as checked with Control right arrow
and is only saying the date or part of the date. I've been able to change
the dates, but the results are not accurate, so I think the items really
aren't checked. I did a search in my In-Box for messages received from
October 20, 2011 to October 22, 2011 and I knew there were some, but 0 items
were found. I played with the dates some and was able to come up with
something of switching to JAWS cursor and left clicking on the graphic to
the left of received after, switching back to PC, tabbing once, switching to
JAWS cursor and left clicking on the graphic just to the left of received
before, switching back to PC, and hitting enter. Six messages for my
October 20, 2011 to October 22, 2011 search turned up which should have been
about right. I'll work more on it later since I need a break and could be
missing something with your instructions.

Margaret

Hello there;

Although jaws doesn't say check or unchecked for the following;
In windows live mail;
After pressing ctrl+shift+f,
Now tab for example until you hear;

Received before: 10/22/2011
By default the box is unchecked,
So, if you press the spacebar, the box then becomes checked,
If you then press ctrl+right arrow jaws will read the status as checked.

Hello,

How are you managing with 60 folders and getting to the ones at the end of
the list? I am coming to Windows Live Mail 2011 from Outlook Express and I
thought WLM 2011 didn't have first letter navigation in the folders list or
for manually moving messages to different folders. Am I missing something
here? I had 40 folders in OE and am trying to pare the number down for my
OE messages to go into WLM 2011. For example, I have an OE folder for posts
on Windows 7 saved along with a couple of other folders wh
ose names begin with "W" and moving messages to a "W" folder with first
letter navigation is pretty painless. I'm dreading the thought of all those
down arrow presses to get to a "W" folder in WLM2011 and have been trying to
think how I can consolidate my existing 34 folders into something like a
half dozen in addition to the default ones Microsoft gives such as In-box.
I've been happily working with all my OE folders for years and I'm not
relishing the thought of having to remember a new slimmed down fol
der list!

Thank you,

Margaret

Hi.

I have used Windows Live Mail 2011 for long time, and with Jaws 12 and 13
beta, it work's fine.
I have created rules for several thing's, and i have post, sorted into at
least 60 folders.

I have also 4 e-mail adress's with rules for sorting post from the different

inbox's to specified subfolders, and all works fine.

Jaws support's all the structure in the program's interface, but it takes
time to learn and be patient with the new interface, because it is using the

band structure, just as the newest version's of Microsoft Office.

But finding out how to create the subfolder's and how to create the rules,
will take time, because there is nothing to compare with the previous
interface.

Hans Pauli.

Jim, thank you. And are you talking about the Windows Live Mail 2011?
Certainly this version is easier to find for download. Has Freedom
scientific written any scripts for it? Can you create messege rule to help
deal with large volumns of special interest mail like this Jaws users list?

thank you for any additional thoughts. I know Outlook 2010 will also work
but that will cost me an additional $80 or so to purchase.
