David and Rick, Does Alt+n and Shift+Enter give you the same result when dealing with the Pop-Up Blocker?

If this is the case you may access it by hitting the key combination of alt + N. On many websites I encounter the problem that when I press enter on a link to start a download I hear a click on the pc speaker but the download does not start. When I press the application key and choose to open in a new window the new window opens and from there I can activate the link. Does anyone know whether it is a setting which got changed in windows or internet explorer. I use win xp service pack 3 and ie7.
