Flor Thanx once again! I managed to get that sorted out earlier today - it was my stupidity! Must be the heat - over 40 degrees Celsius around here!!
I must say I am pleasantly surprised with my focus 40 blue! The braille feels much crisper than on the pacmate displays. The keyboard takes a bit of getting used to but is not impossible to work with. I would have given the keys a little bit more movement inwards though. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Flor Lynch Sent: 20 January 2012 05:34 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] extra buttons on 40 focus blue André, They are the two shift keys, right- and left-shift. In JAWS12 up, they came to be used in various braille chorded keys. If you activate Keyboard help as usual or with the dots1-456 and space chord, you can experiment and see. I had to get mine repaired, and was most disappointed and frustrated when it wasn't done fully. It now is. But i was without it for a few months. Focus40 blue owners, Try to get familiar with the Diagnostics Mode: It's more important than I at least thought. Another nice thing about the unit is that it works well with NVDA !! ----- Original Message ----- From: "André van Deventer" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, January 20, 2012 6:47 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] extra buttons on 40 focus blue Hi all Here's something that puzzles me. According to the documentation that came with my new focus 40 blue, on the front of the display, you have 2 panning buttons 2 selector buttons. And two rocker bars. However what puzzles me is that between the two selector buttons there is a raised area with two additional buttons which is not mentioned in any documentation - not even in the help documentation at all. They also do not seem to do anything at all. Can someone assist here? Very puzzling!
