Leonard:

1. ALT-key and right arrow over to the review tab.
2. Tab-key until you get to the protect document button and hit spacebar.
3. Check what kind of document you are protecting. Most likely its a form
document and tab to OK and Enter.
4. The password dialog box will come up. Enter your password and tab and
enter the same password to verify. Tab to OK and enter and there you go.
5. Close your document and open it again. Yu should be prompted with the
dialog box.

Hope this helps.

----- Original Message ----- I want to protect a document in Ms word 2007
but when I get to the correct
ribbon area I get a lot of choices but I don't see where to input the
password. Are there shortcut keys to perform this task better? In fact
somebody sent a reply with very user friendly instructions about a month
ago. I was able to protect the document. Now, I want to protect another
document but I didn't save the information because it was so easy I thought
I would not forget it. How wrong I was! (smile.) I remember that the
instructions started with the f12 key where you input the name but from
there I am at a loss.
