Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions and helpful tips.
Finally, I was able to solve it.
The weird problem, I realized was while installing the software, I believe,
it also prompted to set as default homepage. Accidentally or without much
care, I might have checked that option and continued. In doing so, had
remained that very web site as default homepage. Surprisingly, I do not
understand why it can't be changed. After uninstalling that software, I now
can easily change the homepage.
I had similar experience while installing AIMS. It had the option of AOL as
default homepage. I unchecked to ensure that can change the homepage. I
remember, once having check the option and later could not change the
homepage butt to keep AOL as homepage. I had to uninstall AIMS and
reinstall.
Anyway, that was a lesson learnt and wished to share will the rest of you..
