For sutch keystrokes there's a way to make it eazy. You can make your insert
key to stick and wait for you to press the rest of the keystroke. Look for
insert key mode in the settings center or in the user settings in
configaration manager. It's the last option in the user settings. You can
see it only when the default jcf is loaded. When you open the settings
center or the config manager just press ct+shift+d to load the default
settings file.

The hand acrobattics I use is I hold the insert with my right fore finger
and then I use my left hand thumb on the windows key and fore finger to
get the f4 key

Since I have only one windows key which is on the left end of the keyboard
and the num pad is way on the right, and then we all know where the F4 key
is, I certainly cannot accidentally or inadvertently make this
combination.
Have to do some hand acrobatics to accomplish this keystroke, but do
appreciate the fact that it is available.

Hi Donna,
The keystroke you are looking for is, Insert, Windows Key, + F4. This key
is used to shut Jaws down when the normal keystroke, Insert, F4 + Enter,
does not work. That keystroke is supposed to completely (and very
quickly)
kill JAWS and simultaneously create a debug file dump for analysis
purposes.
Also, don't try to use this keystroke when you have Keyboard Help turned
on!
For whatever reason this keystroke is not in Keyboard Help & if invoked,
you
will shut Jaws down! At least that's what happend to me! Hope this
helps.
Take care.
Mike
I agree with you. Some of these keystrokes actually hurt my 58-year-old
fingers.

In the past I have used such a keystroke, but cannot remember what it was
and if it is still available. It was something like insert control
windows
key and F4. Or something like that. I thought it was called something
like
kill jaws because it forced jaws to close and made a funny little sound
when
it worked. I also would like to know if this feature is still available
and
if so, just what it might be.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] How do I customize keystroke combo to shut JAWS
without the prompt asking me if I'm sure?
hello,
there is a keystroke combo that shuts off JAWS forcefully without
prompting
the user. this is quite handy when something is going on on the PC and
JAWS
is either not responding or acting funny. then there is a way to go in
and
change this keystroke combo to something more ergonomic like say, ctrl
windows-key alt J.
Thx!
