If you have Open Book or Kurzweil you can send the file to the printer then
select the appropriate one and the image file is converted. Jaws OCR is
best used just to get a look at what it is so you know if you want to
proceed further with a conversion process. It is not meant to read long
documents. For that you really need some kind of scanning program that will
convert image files to text.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] reading empty PDF documents in JAWS 13

Hi,

I am assuming that the PDF document is an image. If you have a scanner, you
can print the document and then scan it to have Jaws be able to read the
document as a text file.

I don't have open book or Kirzwell, but I understand that either one can
read the image file and convert it to text. I also understand that there
might be some site on the web that will do the same. Sorry to say, but I
don't know where that would be. Perhaps a Google search can find one for
you?

Take care.

Lennie
