I must have a weird machine then. Every time I have done these updates, they have worked flawlessly except for this one. I've had avg and superantispyware running during every one, including this one so don't see how that could have affected anything. I'm glad you folks are having better success with it than I did. I don't know if the brand of machine matters, but I have an Acer Aspire 5738.

Hmmm. I didn't come across anything like that. I have a Windows 7 64
Bit machine. I find that interesting though.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] take heed: latest update

First, a bit of background. I've got 2 computers, one running windows 7
64 bit, the other windows xp service pack 3. Jaws has released build
1106 of 13.0. I got the notification about it when I turned on the
computer running windows 7 64 bit. So I install the update. It installs
with no problem, after which the computer is restarted. Then I get an
error message saying "jhook.dll is missing from your computer". So I try
reinstalling the program from the full download. It then tells me that
another version of jaws is installed and to uninstall it. Good thing I
have a demo of Window Eyes on this computer, or I would not have known
what was going on for a while. So I uninstall Jaws, then reinstall it,
and now everything works. Interestingly enough, the 32 bit version did
not have this problem and worked like a champ. Hope this is helpful.
