Hi!

The problem is I wanted to charge the display while using it. And it does seem that the USB port does not have enough power to do this.

I do remember once I ran an alva satellite on it and I also had to use the power supply in order for the thing to work.

Not even the usb recognition sound comes up.

And I think the battery is to low to try a bluetooth connection. It seems the only solution will be to buy a powered hub to at least get the thing going. I'm not at home at present and was planning on simply using the usb port to charge the display so I don't have the power adapter with me.

Hi André, In the braille display users Lounge!!

Depending on how new the computer is, some USB ports - particularly if
on the front panel - may through 'wear and tear' lose their
communications connectivity. One solution to that sort of problem is a
self-powered USB hub, which at one end connects to a working USB port on
the computer and at the other end plugs in to an electric power supply.
In between on the device are up to about six or fewer USB ports for
connecting USB supported devices/peripherals

Subject: [JAWS-Users] focus blue not recognised by computer!

Hi all

Hopefully one of you clever folks can help with this!!

I'm using a small linovo netbook computer.

For some strange reason, I can for example install my nokia e52 on the the usb ports and use it to connect to the pc. But the USB ports will not recognise neither my focus blue or my plextalk pocket. It will recognise my card reader though as well as my USB keyboard!

What could be the trouble here? Does the USB ports simply not give out enough power and if so is it possible to increase the power output of the USB ports in some kind of setting?

This is a rather serious problem as I will be travelling next week and would need the functionality.

Regards

Andre
