I know someone who uses Thunderbird. She uses version 3.1.11. It's downloadable. It's the most compatible one I found. It's pretty old, but it works fine. There was one time I remember (I think it was getting to the message list) that she had to SHIFT+TAB and then TAB to get JAWS to focus on the list of messages. But other than that, I don't remember any problems. She uses JAWS 13. I don't know if that makes a difference.
