I am very disappointed that this does not work and that changes are only 
possible globally. I don't understand why they can be made temporarily, but

Open up word and hit insert + 6 on the number row for the settings center
and make your changes accordingly.

I am using Jaws 12, which I just installed and running Windows XP. I do work
where it is necessary to have all the punctuation read when in Microsoft
Word. It looks like the only way to change punctuation is in the default
configuration settings, but I don't want every application reading
punctuation levels. How do I change punctuation levels for individual
applications? I have been playing with this for quite some time and can't
figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.
