Of course, you can put a number of the most used features into the quick access toolbar for a simple way to get at them. Like the paragraph dialog , tables dialog , page layout, font and any number of other main dialogs.

I thought Virtual ribbons was going to be a help but frankly, I do a lot of
stuff in word via keystrokes, for example control E for center, etc, with
virtual ribbons on I lost that ability and so I used them for about three
days and then turned them back off,. If I need a command I don't remember,
I just go to the ribbon and find it, maybe that happens to me about once
every few months. So what I thought would be a great feature is not for an
old hand at Word but probably is great for someone just learning, someone
who is willing to use menus for every command they wish to execute. I'd
love the older style menus back but not at the cost of not being able to use
the keyboard shortcuts I have used for the past 15 years or so.
The ribbons are really not that hard and since most employers will be using
them these days, I figure it is better to be able to use them than to be
dependent on an option that may or may not work in the work setting.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Ribbons

I have not upgraded to Jaws 14 yet and I've been using a very old version of Word, 2003, I think. I do have this Win7 computer. This old version of word needs to be replaced because it is not saving properly and it's losing data
in documents. I'm not sure which version uses Ribbons. But my question is,
are a lot of you using Virtual Ribbons and is that helpful?

Miriam
