Hi

Which flavor of JAWS 14 are you running on your laptop, 918 or 1036. You
can find the build level of JAWS your running by going to the About dialog
from the JAWS help menu or just the JAWS menu if you're running from the
system tray. When JAWS is started at logon, I have always seen delays like
you describe on the logon screen before JAWS will even start speaking, but
it runs fine after you are logged on. However, when I installed the latest
JAWS 14 update, 1036, I got delays like that after being logged on and had
to back off to 918. FS is working on the latest update, which currently is
not available.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] starting jaws at the log on screen?

Hi all,

running win7 and j14.

I've just got a new laptop and decided to password the machine.

should I have jaws start at the login screen as well as for the current
user, or should it be just for the login screen?

I am the only user of the machine, there is only my account as
administrator.

the machine is running very slow, taking half a minute for jaws to speak
after executing commands, not sure if having jaws start at both login screen
and for user is the cause.
