But how do you use it? I've added the no script addon to firefox but if I access www.therific.co.za exactly the same thing happens.

Google no script plugin or just do a search in firefox's ad-ons. What it does is block all javascript. You can unblock sites by using its menu item under the context key if you need javascript there, or temporarily unblock everything if you aren't sure what you should block and just want to get the page no matter what. Since a lot of flash is triggered off of javascript, you usually get the non-flash version of a blocked page, if there is one.
