My current laptop (running JAWS 11 and Vista) is going to crash any day now, so I am looking to purchase a new laptop as soon as possible. I have spoken to several people regarding the pros and cons of Windows 8, and as to whether sticking with Windows 7 would be a wiser decision. Another factor to consider is that, while Windows 7 is still readily available, my selection of Windows 8 laptop options would be somewhat broader. I would appreciate hearing from those of you who have been using Windows 8 on a regular basis both successfully or unsuccessfully, and whether either 7 or 8 seems to provide the JAWS user with greater advantages other than 7 being within our comfort zone. I do expect, within reason, that 8 would involve a significant learning curve, but if some tasks are outright impossible to perform (reading specific screens, navigation issues, etc.), please share these as well, as too much ongoing frustration might make me think twice about the switch.
