Hi Scott: I made the decision to buy a new windows 7 desktop computer in November. I read the how to use windows 8 books from bookshare. I decided for now to stay with windows 7, even though for the most part windows 8 looks like it works very well with Jaws. I am very happy with my choice, I am one who is not afraid to learn new things. I just think for me that windows 7 is smooth and secure right out of the box, and very accessible with jaws. I had no problems setting the new computer up and installing my programs. I have a 3.6 GHZ AMD FX-4100 quad processor with 6 GB of ram and a TB of storage. I was able to buy this computer cheaper because it was a windows 7 instead of a w-8. So keep that in mind as well as you shop for a computer, you should be able to get a more powerful windows 7 computer for the same money as a less powerful window 8 one , in my opinion.
