Hi Steve, Thank you for your reply. After thinking about my problem, I decided to try maximizing the inbox. That did the trick. At least for now, the unread messages are showing as "unread."
I'll keep your suggestion in mind should I run into the problem again. You might try reading through your email list using the Jaws cursor. Sometimes that will reveal what is going on. If that doesn't work, you might require sighted assistance.
