has he tried maximizing it again, it sounds like it has gotten reduced to the in-between size that office apps can go into so is not displaying the whole window properly to jaws, thus it is not able to say things properly alt and spacebar, then x to maximize the window, do this to the general window first, then you can try it in a message window, though this last one doesn't (most of the time) make much of a difference
