no, I'm not unsure. I set up my account, did the audio captcha, so account
went through. as I put in my original post, it asks for varification to send
my first email, but there was no audio link to hear the captcha

You seem to be unsure of what you did exactly. We can't be surer than
you.
If you haven't done so, in order to use m.yahoo or any other yahoo
online service, You must set up an account using www.yahoo.com/ >.
You asked initially about mail verification, which implied that you had
indeed set up a Yahoo account (including ID, etc.) To have done that,
you needed to have solved a CAPTCHA.
Try signing in on the main www.yahoo.com site.

Well, i have a Yahoo account and it works pretty well.
I was able to manage things via SMS.
Actually, they send a code which is easy to read using a screen reader
like
Talks or voiceOver.
Yahoo Website is not so friendly, but m.yahoo.com is fine.
Unfortunately, to change password etc, you need to use the standard site.
That's my personal experience.

I think that yahoo does have an audio CAPTCHA. Do you mean some other
service, like pop3 with yahoo mail? if so, I don't know about that.

I don't like depending on people doing things for me, but this I'll do.
obviously yahoo mail isn't totally screen reader friendly. every other
site
that I've registered for, had an audio captcha

The other alternative is to fill in a CAPTCHA. Did you successfully
create aa yahoo account, or not? If you did, then it'd probably be the
two-step verification that I spoke of. You don't send yahoo a text; but
you (or someone else) must be able to read the SMS they will send to
your phone when you log in to them from your computer.

so, as of now, if a blind person doesn't text on a cell, they can't open
a
yahoo mail account?

This may (and I would emphasize *may* for the moment) be one part of the
two-step verification process that yahoo! et al. use to ensure that you
are who you say you are. What is supposed to happen there is that they
send an SMS text to your mobile phone (the number of which you would
have given them when signing up and agreeing) having a string of numbers
in the body which is a verification code that you type in when
requested.

I know that recently there were a lot of postings about yahoo mail, but
I didn’t use yahoo, so deleted them. I decided to open a yahoo mail
account anyway, but now, when I want to test my email, it asks for a
mail verification number. I apologize, but how are we supposed to do
this?
