thanks, will check for that as well. I just had him go to control panel and internet options. Had him clear history and all cookies etc. Reran super antispyware this time it found 9 items. it removed 7 and quarantined 2. Right now there is not a lot of extra adds on the youtube site. I kind of figured that it had to be something in IE since firefox worked ok. When first going from win 98 to xp I hated xp.I really now hate win 8. I am going to hold on to this win 7 machine as long as I can.

When he updated flash it probably installed the
asp tool bar. You get it and google chrome if not
unchecked. You can find it in xp add/remove
programs and in vista to win8 in programs and
features as asp tool bar. Just remove it and all should be well.

My grandson uses youtube to listen to music. Not too long ago he was notified to update flash player. As soon as he did he tets tremendous amount of adds on the youtupe site. There is a disclaimer that the adds are not from the site. At the time he was using the verson of Nortain that came with his HP computer. When it expired I could not tellhim how to activate windows defender but had him remove nortain and install avast. It found 3 items that needed removal. He went back into youtube using IE and the adds were gone. The next time he started the computer they were back. I had him download and install superantispyware. It too removed 3 items and it was clean. Of course it showed it’s ugly head again and both avast and superantispyware did not locate anything. I had him try firefox and it was clean. back to Ie and the adds are there. Downloaded malabites and it located 3 items and removed them. The first test Ie was clean then they came back. Firefox is still clean. In IE popup blocker is checked. This is on a windows 8 machine and I can not find my way around it. Any ideas on where to look.I thought about turning system restore off for one cleaning attempt but can not locate it yet. --- Please visit my home page, it is motivational, educational, inspirational with a touch of humor.
